8 is more versatile than other battery chargers on the market. It has a Dual voltage battery charger with a 3-stage charge programme suitable for a range of batteries.
A dual voltage charger is ideal for a user who has multiple battery systems with different voltages.
SIP have developed and employed specialised protections to make sure your battery lasts longer and performs optimally.
The 3-stage charge programme maximises your battery life and capacity over time meaning you spend less money replacing your batteries. Here's how it works:
- In the first stage, the charger identifies your battery and how much charge it needs, and then applies a high voltage/amperage charge to do the bulk of the charging.
- The second stage kicks in when your battery hits 80% capacity, and the charger begins to taper off the voltage/amperage. This is also known as a cool-down cycle.
- The third stage is the final stage, and comes into effect when your battery hits 95% capacity. The charger will maintain a steady current until the battery reaches 100% and at that point, the charger will monitor the battery and only charge if it detects any loss.
