The Sealey Bench Mounting Radial Pillar Drill 5-Speed 550W/230V is a compact yet highly versatile drilling machine designed for precision drilling in professional workshops, engineering environments, fabrication shops, and serious DIY workspaces. Its innovative radial design offers greater flexibility than a conventional bench drill, allowing users to drill larger workpieces and access difficult-to-reach areas with ease.

Powered by a reliable 550W motor, this bench-mounted pillar drill features five spindle speeds to suit a wide variety of materials and drilling applications. The 16mm (5/8") No.2 Morse Taper (MT2) chuck and 80mm spindle travel provide excellent drilling capacity and accuracy for both light and heavy-duty tasks.

The radial arm extends to provide a maximum throat depth of 420mm, enabling off-table drilling and angle drilling that would not be possible with a standard pillar drill. The arm is operated by a rack and pinion mechanism, allowing smooth, precise positioning of the drill head for accurate alignment and repeatable results. Safety is enhanced with a no-volt release switch, which prevents accidental restarting following a power interruption, while a pulley cover cut-out microswitch automatically disables operation when the belt cover is opened.

Standing 820mm high and supported by a sturdy 60mm diameter column, the drill offers excellent rigidity and stability while maintaining a compact footprint suitable for workbenches. For added versatility, a compatible MA10 mortising attachment is available separately, and a floor-standing version (Model GDM1630FR) is also available for users requiring additional height and capacity.
